The QJC logo
The QJC logo is inspired by the tree of Andry. This has been a symbol of orthopaedic surgery since it first graced the cover of Nicolas Andry's 1741 book “Orthopedie". The roots the word "orthopaedic" comes from straight and child, and is symbolised by the growing tree tied to a straight stake to help it grow straight and strong.

In our case the stake is a cross, which is been a symbol of healthcare since the knights hospitalier of St John. We are a Christian practice that supports the values of treating the sick , helping those in need, and to do good in our community.
The leaves of our logo are shaped to mirror the peaks of double Cone, the top of the Remarkables mountain range behind Queenstown. Our people are based in Queenstown. We don't just fly-in-fly-out leaving our patients behind. We are local people and our deep-rooted tree symbolises our roots in Queenstown, Central Otago and Southland.
